1 - Mumbai
Arrive Mumbai. You are received and welcomed by the Know-Well India Tours representative at the airport & Transfer to hotel. He will present you the travel documents. Afternoon sightseeing of Mumbai Tour includes a visit to the Gateway of India-erected to commemorate the landing of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911; Prince of Wales Museum, Jehangir Art Gallery, Marine Drive, Chowpatty beach, Hanging Garden and the Crawford Market.
Day 2 - Mumbai - Udaipur (By Air )
Morning excursion to Elephanta Caves.A must for any visitor to India. Mute testimony of the Golden Age in Indian history during the Gupta period and built to honour Lord Shiva. Elephanta is a 3 kms long elongated island, consisting of two hills separated by a valley. The caves with rock-cut figures and carvings are believed to be carved by the sculptors of Ajanta or Udayagiri.
Intime transfer to airport to board flight for Udaipur. Afternoon free to take a walking tour on your own through the narrow lanes and back streets of Udaipur upto the Washing Ghats at the lake Pichola. Visit one of the fine downtown restaurants for an optional dinner
Day 3- Udaipur
Morning sightseeing of Udaipur visiting The City Palace and Museum is considered as the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. Pratap Memorial has the bronze statue of Maharana Pratap, the legendary warrior king of Udaipur. Jagdish Temple which was built in 1651 AD. Saheliyon Ki Bari is a small ornamental garden. Late afternoon enjoy boat-ride on Lake Pichola visiting many Ghats (banks) of washing, bathing etc and enjoy excellent views of the Lake Palace and City Palace.
Day 4- Udaipur - Jaipur
Morning transfer to airport to board flight for Jaipur. Arrive Jaipur and transfer to hotel. Morning excursion to Amber Fort, situated outside the walled city, is perhaps the most beautiful example of Rajasthani forts. You can have the unique experience of riding on elephant back to and from the top of the hill on which the fort is situated. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Jaipur including, City Palace in the heart of Jaipur known for its blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Not far away is the Central Museum with its large collection of woodwork. Another monument near the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, is the largest of the five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh-I, the founder ruler of Jaipur. Stop at Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, a seven storied facade and one of the most picturesque monuments constructed for the royal ladies to watch the royal processions without being seen.
Day 5- Jaipur - Agra
Morning drive to Agra via Emperor Akbar's deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri, an almost perfectly preserved 4oo year old Mughal capital. Quintessential Mughal city that was the capital of their empire in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Day 6- Agra
Morning city sightseeing tour visiting The Taj Mahal, which is entirely made of white marble and its walls are decorated with exquisite pietra dura (stone inlay) work. Also visit Agra Fort (also called the Red Fort), which retains the irregular outline of the demolished mud-wall fort of the Lodis. The Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula is located in a walled garden overlooking the Yamuna. Akbar's tomb at Sikandra, located in a large walled garden on the road to Delhi. Pay another visit to Taj Mahal and ride a cycle rickshaw to the monument.
Day 7- Agra - Khajuraho
Intime transfer to Railway Station to board Shatabdi Express for Jhansi. Arrive Jhansi and drive to Khajuraho visiting Orchha enroute. The Chaturbhuj Temple and Laxmi Narayan Temple are two other important religious attractions in Orchha. Arrive Khajuraho by late afternoon and check - in at hotel.
Day 8- Khajuraho - Varanasi (By Flight or Night Train)
Morning sight seeing shows us the temples built during the 9th to the 11th centuries by the powerful dynasty of Chandela Rajputs. The temples with their erotic sculptures are a feast to the eyes. The Chandelas built 85 temples in all but today only 20 temples stand intact. Visit the eastern and western group of temples before being transferred to the airport to catch your flight/train to Varanasi. Upon your arrival at Varanasi, you will get assistance and transfer to your hotel. In the evening visit River Ganges by boat and see praying ceremony of holy river Ganges.
Day 9- Varanasi - Kathmandu
Early in the morning at the time of sunrise visit banks of the river Ganges and have boat ride to see the morning ablutions of the Hindus. See the Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Gyanvyapi kund and the mosque attached to it. Also visit the Banaras Hindu University the largest residential university in India with more than 3000 residential students. Intime transfer to airport to board flight for Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Day free for independent activities.
Day 10- Kathmandu
Given clear sky you can enjoy a mountain flight for an hour for a close view of various Himalayan peaks. Morning visit Hanuman Dhoka, the name of the old royal palace has been derived from the statue of Hanuman (the monkey god of Hindu mythology) Also visit the hilltop Stupa of Swayambhunath, considered 2,000 years old.
Day 11- Kathmandu
Morning visit The Pashupatinath Temple, situated on the banks of River Baghmati around 8 km from the city, is one of the holiest Hindu shrines. Also visit Boudnath is one of the largest stupas in the world
Day 12- Kathmandu - Delhi (By Flight)
In time transfer to airport to board flight for Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon proceed on a tour of the capital city. Enjoy full day sightseeing tour of -:
New Delhi: designed and built by the British in the 1920's it's a city of wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens. First you will visit two monuments from Delhi's past Humayun's Tomb and Qutab Minar. Then your drive takes you along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate and Parliament House.
Old Delhi: an ancient walled city. Here you will see Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Moghul Empire; Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India and Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colourful market of the old city.
Day 13- Delhi
This day you will be transferred to the International airport, 3 hours before boarding International flight for your onwards journey.
