1 - Cochin
Arrive Cochin International Airport, You are received and welcomed by the Know-Well India Tours representative at the airport & Transfer to hotel. He will present you the travel documents. Afternoon sightseeing of Cochin covering The Dutch Palace at Mattancherry is renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana. The Jewish Synagogue at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town. The St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. The Santa Cruz Basilica originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese. The Chinese fishing nets are huge cantilevered fishing nets believed to have brought to Kochi by Chinese traders. Finally, the Willingdon Island, named after Lord Willingdon, is the headquarters of the Southern Naval Command of India.
Day 2- Cochin - Periyar
Drive to a scenic route dotted with plantations of rubber, cardamom, cocoa, green pepper and areca nut, to the wildlife reserve at Periyar. Periyar Forest is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India. Lying at an altitude of 900 - 1800 m above sea level and spread across 777sq.Km, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wildlife and scenic beauty, it's the only sanctuary in India where you can view wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. Periyar's biggest attractions are the Herds of Elephants that come down to water and play at the lakeside.
Day 3- Periyar - Munnar
Early morning enjoy a boat ride on Lake Periyar to see wild elephants. Afternoon drive to Munnar, the famous hill station of Kerala. Arrive Munnar and check - in at hotel.Overnight at Munnar.
Day 4- Munnar
Day is free to relax and to walk around. Munnar is situated near the Anaimudi Peak, the highest peak in the Western Ghats. Overnight at Munnar
Day 5- Munnar - Kumarakom
Morning depart for kumrakoram, one of the most beautiful area of kerala. Up on arrival transfer to hotel. In the evening a boat ride on the back waters of kerala discovering various villages and the life of the locals..
Day 6- Kumarakom - Alappuzha
Drive a short distance. Thereafter have boat ride through canals and waterways up to Alleppey. The backwater cruise in a country boat is the best way to explore the villages and rural life. In Alleppey you will be taken aboard your floating houseboat (Kettuvallam), a different boat with a bedroom and en-suite rest room for your comfort. Enjoy unlimited surfing on backwaters, sip a coconut, get disturbed only by the chirping of birds and occasional ripples in water and savor mouthwatering delicacies prepared before you by the boat kitchen crew. Spend the night in houseboat. Enjoy a cruise on the backwater through a maze of canals and lagoons as well relish the taste of freshly caught fresh water fish, cooked to your taste on board.
Day 7- Alappuzha - Trivandrum
Morning board your transport for an interesting drive to Trivandrum & visit The ancient temple of Sri Padmanabhaswamy, one of the major attractions in the city of Thiruvananthapuram. Napier Museum was built in 1880 and shows a harmonious blending of Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and Italian architectural styles. Sri Chitra Art Gallery has a good collection Tanjore, Mughal and Rajput schools of art.
Day 8- Trivandrum - Cape
Full day return excursion to Cape Camorin, the southernmost part of the Indian mainland. Visit the Vivekananda Memorial, built about 400 meters offshore.
Day 9- Trivandrum
This day you will be transferred to the International airport, 3 hours before boarding International flight for your onwards journey.
